Cost of Flight Training
One of the first questions that come to mind when people consider flight training is “How much will it cost?”
Although the answer will be different for each individual, I will provide the rates of York Flight Training as a point of reference. Keep in mind that YFT rents ONLY Cessna 172’s, and they only rent “wet”. This is a term that refers to an aircraft being rented with the cost of fuel already factored into the hourly rate.
These prices are valid as of 2/1/10
One hour of aircraft rental is: $125.17
This price is broken into three categories:
Aircraft Rental: $80.00
Taxes: $4.80
Fuel: $40.37
Total: $125.17
The cost for 1 hour of flight instruction is an additional: $49.00
So the total cost for 1 hour of flight instruction is: $174.17
The minimum allowable time to receive a Private Pilots License is 40 hours. The average time for someone to receive their certificate, however, is 60 hours. This time will be dependent on many variables including: student, instructor, available time, time spent studying, and much more. With this said, the total cost of receiving a Pilots license is between $8000 and $12000. The following page servers as a terrific guide on the how’s and whys of flight training. I am planning to start flight lessons in York, and I am glad to finally have some fair pricing. Keep up the good work!

I am not sure what your message means Aaron but you have enough personal info here that should not be. You really should erase it.
Well if they rent the plane with fuel then deduct the fuel cost-dummy.
I am looking to start flying lessons, but even the price listed is really hard for me to afford. Does anyone know if I can apply for the FAFSA for getting flying lessons here? Is there a school code for it or wouldn’t it even be possible? I cannot complete the FAFSA without chosing a school code so what do I do? Are there other types of government or federal grants that can cover earning my pilot’s license? Please email me back if you can help me at freebird4481@gmail.com Thanks in advance!
obviously like your web-site but you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to inform the reality however I’ll definitely come again again.
