Current METAR

As pilots the METAR, or Meteorological Terminal Aviation Routine Weather Report is a priceless weather observation and flight planing tool. York Airport’s METAR can be found on the VHF frequency of 119.275, or by calling (717) 792-5529 any time of day of night. The METAR is delivered in translated text for your convenience, however in-case raw format is your thing it is also included at the bottom of the translated text. This METAR is pulled in real time from the NOAA online database.

Local TAF’s

A TAF, or Terminal Area Forecast, is a outlook at expected weather conditions in a certain region during a specific timeset. Since York Airport does not publish a TAF (not all airports do) we will display TAF’s from the three airports nearest KTHV offering TAFs. These airports are (listed by distance from KTHV) KMDT, KMUI, and KRDG. Currently we can only offer TAF’s in a raw format, hopefully this will change as our coding capabilities grow.

KMDT - Middletown, PA

KMUI - Muir Army Airfield (Fort Indiantown Gap), PA

KRDG - Reading, PA

Local Radar

Our radar is hosted by the National Weather Service (NOAA) and accuweather.com. Our radar is displayed on a loop which allows pilots to gather information about current weather, and trending conditions. We currently have both a Northeast Composite image and a Local PA image available.

Severe Weather Advisories

This section contains all state issued weather warnings as they are posted to our region (York). These warnings are a direct pull from the NOAA site and as a result should always be up-to-date.

Winds

The winds section contains a national surface wind speed and direction map. This section is currently under development and will have much more data in the near future.
